Is My Stuff Expired?

Real talk: ten times out of ten, that scary "expired" date you're squinting at is actually the manufacture date — the day it was made, not the day it goes bad. Two completely different things. Let's sort it out in about ten seconds so you can get back to your day.

The 10-second version

MFG / MFD= the day it was made. Not an expiration. If it's recent, good news — your stuff is fresh, not old.
EXP / Best By= the day it's guaranteed good through. It's only actually "expired" if today's date is past it.

The day it was made and put it on the bottle. Basically a "born on" date. A recent one doesn't mean old, it means fresh off the line.

So… is it expired? Nope. A made-on date is the opposite of expired; it's the day the clock started ticking, not the day it ran out.

Expiration / Best-By Date

The day the maker promises it's still at full strength. On supplements this is almost always about potency (does it still pack its punch), not safety.

So… is it expired? Only if today is past it. On it or before it? You're golden.

Here's where everybody gets tripped up

Same exact numbers. Completely different story. The whole secret is in those tiny letters sitting in front of the date:

MFG 06/2026Made June 2026 · brand new
EXP 06/2026Good through June 2026

So if your bottle says MFG 06/2026, that is not "expired in June 2026." It means the day it was made. Honestly? A recent manufacture date makes it one of the freshest things in your whole cabinet. Take the win.

How to read any bottle in 3 steps

  1. Hunt down the date

    It's usually ink-stamped somewhere sneaky on the bottom of the bottle, the side of the box, the crimp of a tube. Almost never on the pretty front label.

  2. Look at the letters right in front of it

    This is the whole trick. MFG / MFD / "Manufactured" = the it was made. EXP / Best By / Use By = the day it's good through. That's it. That's the secret.

  3. Just a date, no letters, and you're still not sure?

    Don't play detective, and please don't toss a perfectly good bottle. Snap a photo of the whole side of the package where the date is printed, grab your order number, and email both to sales@theoasisofhealth.com. A real human, not a bot, will look at it and tell you exactly what you're holding. No guessing, no tossing money in the trash over a misread number.
One quick thing about date formats: "06/2026" means the whole month of June 2026, you've got until the end of it. And not everybody writes dates the same way: some go day/month/year (so 06/07/2026 is actually July 6th), some go month/day/year. Why do some bottles ONLY show a made date? Because, fun fact, the FDA doesn't actually require an expiration date on supplements. So plenty of solid, reputable brands just stamp the manufacture date and call it a day. Totally normal. It's also the single biggest reason a brand-new bottle gets accused of being "expired" when it's anything but.
