Brahmi Oil in a coconut base is Ayurveda's way of saying "pour calm directly onto your head." That's it. That's the whole pitch, and it happens to be true.

Brahmi (also called bacopa, if you're into aliases) has been used in traditional Ayurvedic practice for a very long time, massaged into the scalp as part of a daily self care ritual. Banyan Botanicals takes that herb, infuses it slowly into organic coconut oil, and bottles it up so you can do what people have been doing for centuries: rub it into your head and sit there for a minute like you've got somewhere to be, but you don't.

Coconut oil is the base here, which means it's solid at room temperature and liquid the second your hands get near it (that's not a flaw, that's just coconut oil being coconut oil). Warm a little between your palms, work it into the scalp and hair, and let it sit before you wash. It's a slow product for people who are willing to be slow on purpose.

What It's Actually For

  • Supports scalp health and nourishes hair when used as a regular topical oil massage
  • Traditionally used in Ayurveda to support a calm, relaxed mood during self care routines
  • Promotes healthy-looking hair through consistent, old-fashioned moisturizing
  • Made with organic coconut oil and Brahmi, nothing you need a chemistry degree to pronounce

How People Use It

Warm the oil, massage it into the scalp and down through the hair, leave it on anywhere from twenty minutes to overnight if you don't mind your pillowcase judging you, then wash as usual. Some people do this once a week. Some people do it every night and have very shiny hair and no further comment.

The Honest Part

This is a topical oil, not a magic lamp. It doesn't grant wishes, it doesn't replace a dermatologist, and it's not going to argue with your genetics. What it does is give your scalp a consistent, traditionally used oil treatment that supports healthy hair and a little built-in moment of calm, because rubbing warm oil into your own head is, scientifically speaking, a pretty relaxing thing to do with your hands.

Banyan Botanicals sources its herbs with the kind of seriousness usually reserved for people who actually care, which, in this case, they do. Four ounces. One bottle. A scalp that's about to have a much better week than your scalp currently anticipates.

Ingredients

Ingredients: Refined Coconut Oil (Cocus nucifera), Gotu Kola aerials (Centella asiatica), Bacopa aerials (Bacopa monnieri)

Directions: If preferred, Brahmi Oil can be applied only to your hair and scalp. Massage gently until the oil is mostly absorbed. To wash, apply shampoo to dry hair, then rinse. Or for a full body massage: Warm oil if desired to support nourishment and absorption. Massage into your whole body with firm, gentle pressure. Work your way from your hands and feet toward your heart. Use long strokes on the limbs and circular strokes on the joints. Let absorb for 10–20 minutes, then shower to rinse. For external use only.

Warnings

All oils make surfaces slippery and can be combustible. Use caution when drying or storing linens exposed to oils as they are potentially combustible when exposed to heat. Consult your dryer manufacturer's guidelines for drying linens that have been in contact with oils.
