Jin Qian Cao translates to "gold coin grass," and this batch never got introduced to sulfur.
That second part matters more than it sounds like it should. A lot of dried herb powders get treated with sulfur dioxide to keep the color bright and the shelf life long, which is a nice way of saying they got a chemical spa day you didn't ask for. This one skipped it. It's a little duller looking as a result. It's also just the plant, ground down, and left alone, which is apparently a radical concept in the world of dried botanicals.
MayWay's Plum Flower line has been supplying raw and powdered traditional Chinese herbs for decades, and Jin Qian Cao (botanically related to Lysimachia or Desmodium depending on the source region, because herbalism loves a good naming debate) has a long history of traditional use in formulas aimed at healthy fluid balance and urinary tract wellness. We're not going to tell you it fixes anything, because it doesn't fix things, it supports things, which is a different job with a different paycheck.
What it's generally used for
- Supports healthy urinary tract function as part of a normal wellness routine
- Supports the body's natural fluid balance
- Traditionally combined with other herbs in TCM decoctions and formulas
- Supports digestive comfort when taken as part of a balanced routine
The powder form means it dissolves into decoctions faster than the raw cut herb would, which matters if you're the type of person standing over a pot wondering why a plant needs an hour and a half of your life. It doesn't. Not anymore. Practitioners and home herbalists use it in custom formula blends, teas, or capsule prep, depending on how committed you are to the process.
This is a raw traditional herb product, not a flavored gummy situation, so expect it to taste like a plant that grew in dirt and is proud of it. That's kind of the point. No sulfur, no bleaching, no shortcuts, just gold coin grass doing what gold coin grass has apparently been doing in herbal formulas for a very long time.
As with any traditional herb, it's best used under the guidance of a qualified TCM practitioner or healthcare provider, especially if you're combining it with other herbs or supplements. Store it somewhere cool, dry, and reasonably far from direct sunlight, because powders are dramatic about humidity in ways that regular people are not.
