Plum Flower Fu Pen Zi, Unsulfured is the dried unripe Chinese raspberry, the berry picked green and named for the bowl somebody turned upside down.
The words doing the work here are "Fu Pen Zi," which point at a shape, not a color or a use. ("Fu" is the word for overturned, the thing flipped upside down, and "Pen" is the basin word, the bowl. "Zi" is just seed or fruit, the tag stuck on the end. So the name reads something like the upended-bowl fruit, named for the little hollow dome the berry makes once you pull it off the plant. A raspberry comes off the stem and leaves a dent, a tiny cup with the bottom missing. Somebody looked at that and saw a basin turned over. Most fruit gets named for the fruit. This one got named for the dimple it leaves behind, which is a generous thing to notice about a berry.) It supports kidney health and the steady daily upkeep a body keeps running without asking permission.
Then there's the part where it got picked early. (Fu Pen Zi is the berry harvested before it ripens, gathered green and firm instead of left to go soft and red. So the plant flowered, the berry set, and somebody came along and took it before it was done. A ripe raspberry is the one everybody waits for. This is the one picked the day before, dried hard while it was still holding out.) It promotes the natural processes a body already knows how to run, the quiet background kind that doesn't file a report.
And "unsulfured" names a step that didn't happen to it. Most labels list what got added. This one points at what stayed off. Sulfur is the cosmetic brightening trick on dried things, and this berry skipped it. So the bag advertises an absence, which is a strange thing to brag about, but it's honest. It helps maintain overall vitality the unhurried way.

- Good for someone who wanted the whole dried berries, picked unripe on purpose, not a powder or an extract
How to Work It Into Your Day
Prepare it the way a traditional herb is prepared, following the directions on the label or the guidance of someone who knows the practice. That's the procedure. (Traditional herbs work best when you keep them regular, which is the part people skip. The bag can't keep a schedule for you. Showing up was always the hard part, not the steeping.)
It pairs naturally with the rest of a routine you already keep, the steady meals and the rest and the ordinary care a body responds to. (Fu Pen Zi supports kidney health, but it can't measure itself out, the picking and drying are done but the rest is on you, and there's a bag of unripe raspberries in there, taken green the day before they'd have gone soft, named for the upside-down bowl shape they leave when you pull them loose, patient about waiting on the hands that finish the job.) Store it somewhere cool and dry, since a bag of dried berries sits and waits without asking for much. For a raspberry picked before it ripened and named after a dimple, dried plain without the touch-up, that's a fair trade.
