Xiao Cheng Qi Tang has been used in traditional Chinese herbal practice for a long time, way before anyone thought to put it in a capsule you could just swallow with water instead of simmering a pot of it on the stove for an hour. Sun Ten took that traditional decoction, the "Minor Rhubarb Combination," and turned it into something you can actually fit in a pocket. The word "minor" is doing a lot of quiet work in that name, by the way. Somewhere out there is a "Major" version of this formula, presumably for people with bigger plans for their digestive tract. This one's the understated cousin.
