You Gui Wan is a traditional formula built around eucommia bark and rehmannia root.

This one comes from Sun Ten, a name that's been making concentrated herbal extracts into capsules since before "adaptogen" was a word people said out loud at brunch. You Gui Wan itself is old. Like, hundreds-of-years-of-being-written-down old. It's one of those formulas that shows up in classical Chinese medicine texts, which means somebody a very long time ago figured out this combination worked and then just... kept using it. What's Actually Going On Here

Eucommia bark comes from a tree that, as far as I can tell, exists mostly to have its bark peeled off for tea and tinctures, which feels like a rough career for a tree. Rehmannia root is the other half of the pairing, and together they're formulated to support healthy energy levels and help maintain a sense of warmth and vitality in the body, particularly around the lower back and knees. In traditional use, this combination is associated with what's called "kidney yang," which is not your actual kidneys filing paperwork, it's a broader energy concept. I don't make the rules.
