Four traditional herbs, one formula, named exactly for what's inside it.

Ling Gui Zhu Gan Tang translates, more or less, to a list of its own ingredients. Hoelen. Cinnamon Twig. Atractylodes. Licorice. It's not a clever brand name somebody workshopped in a conference room. It's just what's in the capsule, said out loud. I respect that. Most supplements sound like a robot named them. This one sounds like someone opened the jar and read the label.

A Formula With Some Mileage On It

This combination comes out of classical Chinese herbal tradition, where it's been used for a long time to support the body's normal fluid balance and a settled, steady sense of digestive comfort. Sun Ten takes that formula and puts it into a standardized capsule, which means you don't have to simmer four herbs on a stove like it's 200 A.D. and you've got somewhere to be.

What It Supports

  • Supports healthy fluid balance in the body
  • Supports digestive comfort and a settled stomach feeling
  • Promotes a calm, steady sense of overall equilibrium
  • Supports healthy energy levels as part of daily wellness

The Herbs, Briefly

Poria, also called Hoelen, is a fungus that grows on pine tree roots, which is either the least glamorous origin story in the supplement aisle or the most honest one. Traditionally it's used to support fluid balance and a calm mood. Cinnamon Twig (Gui Zhi) rounds out the formula's role in promoting healthy circulation and warmth as understood in traditional use. Atractylodes (Bai Zhu) is a root long associated with digestive comfort and steady energy. Licorice root (Gan Cao) shows up in a huge number of classical formulas as the harmonizer, the herb whose whole job is to help the others get along. Nobody throws a party for the harmonizer, but the party doesn't work without one.

How To Take It

It comes in capsule form, so there's no decoction, no strainer, no herbal tea situation happening on your stovetop. You take it, you go about your day, the formula does what traditional formulas do. That's the whole pitch. As with any supplement, it works best folded into a normal, reasonably sane daily routine, and you should check with your doctor before starting anything new, especially if you're pregnant, nursing, or taking medication.

Sun Ten has been standardizing traditional Chinese herbal formulas into consistent, quality-tested extracts for decades, so what's in the cap
